My grandfather was the first to get licensed in 1971. Like many agents getting into real estate, his goal was simply to sell his own home and maybe a couple of other deals here and there. In 1977, my grandmother, Rosemarie, became licensed. In 1978 my father, my aunt in 1989, another in 2002, and most recently one of my cousins this year! To say real estate is my family's business is an understatement.
Rosemarie or Real Estate Rose, as her friends called her, started her real estate career with Don Tarbell, the founder of Tarbell Realty as a single agent. She was a single mother of six and had a heart for service and a way with people. My grandmother's home was always open. She connected with people, she listened, and she was never in real estate for the money. However, she was wildly successful! I believe her success could be attributed to her approach. Rose was always there to help. Her standards were what everyone else would consider being extra.
It is my goal to continue her legacy in real estate and in life. I have always had a heart for service, helping, and connecting people with what they need. My family will tell you, that as a child I wanted to be a nurse, a teacher, a lawyer, or a social worker. I never had an interest in fame or fortune, I just always wanted to help.
I found my passion for probate before becoming licensed as a Realtor. Shortly after moving back to California, I was assisting my father on a probate transaction. It was like every other probate in that it was completely unique! I was amazed at how much we were able to help the family. We assisted contractors, service providers, and other various vendors. We kept family members up to date on the progress of the home renovation, clean-out, estate sale, and debris removal. We helped pack and ship the remaining items at no upfront cost to the family. We worked with the contractors and the legal team and became essentially project managers. I realized I could take my experience in project management and apply it to helping families facing probate.
Fast forward to today, my team and I continue my Grandmothers legacy. We have expanded our team to help individuals and families before, during, and after the probate process. We do this whether there is real estate to sell or not. Many people ask how we get paid and why we do what we do.
How do we get paid? This is simple. If there is a home to sell we ask that we are allowed to sell it, if there is no home to sell or the family has chosen to keep the home in the family, that’s wonderful. We simply ask that you help us by referring us to friends and family to sell their homes or help them buy.
Why do we do what we do? This one is even simpler. IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO! I believe in helping one another, building up each other, and serving. I believe we are provided for when we do the right thing.
